The highlight of the National Youth Day celebration was the presentation of the National Youth Day Awards namely the Youth Service Award, Young Leader Award, and the Excellent Project for Youth Award. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Brunei Darussalam presented the awards to the recipients. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohammed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos, Deputy Minister for Civil Service Governance at the Prime Minister's Office.
Also present were His Majesty's sons and brother:
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;
- And His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
The ceremony commenced with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
In his welcoming address, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports among others things touched on the celebration's theme "Youth Ready For The Future", saying it showed relevance in portraying the youth as important drivers of the nation's future. In facing an increasingly complex and challenging global landscape, the government remains committed in providing a support ecosystem that is inclusive and progressive to empower the youth to continue to develop, contribute and play an active role as leaders of the community and country.
The reading of the Youth Pledge was led by Awang Ahmad Danieel bin Abdul Haniff, a Student of Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University. The role of youth in realising Wawasan Brunei 2035 was showcased in a video. Gratitude and loyalty to the monarch was interpreted in a performance by youths.
The Youth Service Award was presented to Dayang Nurul Izyan binti Anver, Configuration Marketing Service officer at an International Company and Deputy President of the Brunei Youth Council. She received a trophy, a woven cloth adorned with national flower patterns, certificate of appreciation, a $3,000 Cash Prize and a holiday package to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia sponsored by Al-Nur Boutique.
The Young Leader Award went to Sharifah Adila Surya binti Malai Haji Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer and Vice President of SMARTER Brunei, received a trophy, a a woven cloth - Jong Sarat Bunga Kebahagiaan, certificate of appreciation, a $3,000 Cash Prize and a holiday package to Istanbul, Turkiye sponsored by Balurih Travel Sendirian Berhad.
The "Jiwa Senja" Project was granted the Excellent Youth Project Award, receiving a Trophy, Certificate of Appreciation, a $3,500 Cash Prize, and $500 in cash contributed by Al-Nur Boutique.
This historical celebration symbolises the government's solid commitment to empowering the youth.
